Integrated Pest Management

Integrated pest management is a systematic and scientific method to prevent pest problems by identifying and then eliminating favourable conditions that permit pests to thrive. Nixon Pest will monitor a pest’s life-cycle and its interaction with various environmental changes. This approach is best summarised as follows:
(1) Inspection and investigation;
(2) confirmation of the problem; and
(3) execution of measures to eliminate the problem.

Measures can include actions such as: sealing cracks in premises which may be suitable for nesting; removing pest feeding sources; and judicious usage of pesticides or chemicals so that the environment is no longer suitable for pest habitation and reproduction.
